A note on my friends list: I don't like the fact that LJ puts things in these terms: there is a difference between "people whose journals I like to keep up with on a continuing basis" and "friends". (LJ is not unique in this, of course; most social networking sites have a similar sociological/ontological problem.) It's also the case that I'm trying to prevent keeping up with blogs and LJs from taking over my life, so if I don't 'friend' you--even if you've already friended me--please don't take this the wrong way.
